This probably doesn't merit commentary, being
in the too-stupid-to-live category. Or maybe I'm missing something. Lessee, take the Jonesbororightnow article from a couple days ago:

The lawsuit, initially filed against the officer for running a stop sign in 2017 and causing injuries, was amended recently. New court documents claim the officer, Michael Talley,
was on his cell phone during the accident, which happened while he was off duty driving his patrol vehicle.

'While recklessly traveling at a high rate of speed too fast for conditions in a police car, Talley was on his phone and distracted in violation of Paul's Law which caused the
plaintiffs to be injured,' the amended complaint said. 'This conduct rendered the patrol car a deadly weapon.'

Makes sense to me. A little more info...

...Haley Johnson (now Boyd), who suffered a fractured spine. Haley Boyd is confined to a wheelchair and has lost the use of her legs, according to the complaint.

Youch! BTW, this happened in 2017. Just a quick observation here, if Joe or Jane Six-pack is speeding on city streets (take a look at
the intersection of Flint Street
and West Huntington Avenue in Jonesboro) and - to say nothing of talking on a phone - rams a car and leaves a passenger permanently crippled Joe or
Jane would at best - unless they had some really good insurance - be impoverished by a court judgment and likely in prison in way less than five years.

But this is Jonesboro, Arkansas. You let an employee of the police department
                                         speak impolitically
about some matter or other and they're fired real quick. This cop nearly
kills a bunch of people and gets suspended for two days. Strangely or maybe not so strangely a Jonesboro cop with the same name
                                         shot a guy
                                         in Helena-West Helena in 2022.

I would ask if he is still employed by the JPD but probably wouldn't like the answer.
